Candidate has raised $28,312 for his campaign so far

–Political consultant John Peschong has raised the most money so far in the race for 1st District San Luis Obispo County Supervisor. Peschong has raised a total of $28,312 for his campaign, according to his California Form 460 filed Feb. 1.

Paso Robles Mayor Steve Martin has raised $19,761 for his supervisorial campaign. Paso Robles City Councilman John Hamon has raised $7,171. Peschong currently has $17,860 cash on hand after debts, Martin $17,236 and Hamon $605.

The reports show Peschong’s financial support is largely from out of the area. Of 69 contributions reported, 42 were from outside of San Luis Obispo County.

Martin reported 37 donors, 33 of which are listed with addresses in the county, including $9,500 from various local trade unions.

Hamon reported 16 contributions, 15 from within the supervisorial district.

The three candidates are running for the seat currently held by Supervisor Frank Mecham. The election will be held June 7.
