Templeton, CA— Small business owner and community leader, John Peschong has received the endorsement of San Luis Obispo County District Attorney Dan Dow.

A US Army Veteran and active member of the Army National Guard, Dow has dedicated both his life and career to public safety. As a Major, Command Judge Advocate, Dow served overseas during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. Previous to his election as District Attorney in 2014, he worked as a Deputy DA – prosecuting domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse crimes.

When asked about his support, Dow said, “I’m confident that John is the best choice for Supervisor because like me, he believes public safety should always be our elected leaders’ top priority. As our departments work to combat local threats such as gang activity in the region, John’s knowledge of the community and commitment to keeping families safe will surely serve as an instrumental piece of this fight.”

As a Central Coast resident, Peschong has dedicated countless hours to local associations and nonprofits – helping to strengthen the region on a number of levels. He has offered his leadership and support to organizations such as: the Templeton Education Foundation, Paso Robles Children Museum, Art for Children, Cattlemen’s Association, SLO County Farm Bureau, and the local 4-H. He has also worked to protect small businesses and taxpayers as the former President of the Central Coast Taxpayers Association and the Lincoln Club of San Luis Obispo County.

“As a husband, father and small business owner, our safety is never something that I’m willing to compromise,” said Peschong. “I’m honored to have Dan’s support and look forward to working with him, the members in his office, and all local law enforcement to ensure our community remains a safe place to live, work and raise a family.”

John Peschong is running to replace current Supervisor Frank Mecham, who announced that he would be retiring at the end of his current term. The district includes the City of Paso Robles as well as the communities of San Miguel, Templeton, Heritage Ranch, Shandon, Oak Shores, and Adelaida. He lives in Templeton with his wife, Anna, and their two children.
