San Luis Obispo County District Attorney Dan Dow has endorsed John Peschong for 1st District county supervisor.

Peschong, a small business owner and political organizer, is running to replace Supervisor Frank Mecham, who is not running for re-election. The district includes much of the North County including Paso Robles, San Miguel and Templeton.

“I’m confident that John is the best choice for supervisor because like me, he believes public safety should always be our elected leaders’ top priority,” Dow said. “As our departments work to combat local threats such as gang activity in the region, John’s knowledge of the community and commitment to keeping families safe will surely serve as an instrumental piece of this fight.”

Peschong said he is honored to have Dow’s support. He said he looks forward to working with Dow to protect public safety.

Peschong lives in Templeton with his wife, Anna, and their two children.

Three others have announced their candidacies for the 1st District seat: John Hamon, a Paso Robles city councilman; Paso Robles Mayor Steve Martin; and Paso Robles resident Dale Gustin.
